After sleeping on a deflated air mattress for a couple of nights we decided to go out and buy a futon for our guest bedroom/office. The room isn't very big and will mostly be used as Tate's business office by day and man cave by night, but when people come and visit every once in a while it will be used as a guest bedroom. Buying a queen size bed for that room just seemed like a waste of money and not a very good use of space. We realize futons aren't always the most comfortable things for people to sleep on, so we shopped around for one that we liked and read online reviews before deciding. Then we picked it up and picked up a memory foam pad for it. After spending a couple of hours putting it together, we actually got a good night of sleep last night. We woke up in our living room and looked at the clock and it was 10:30! Keep in mind we're still adjusting to eastern time so it was actually more like 9:30 to our bodies. I was shocked Jace was still sleeping but when I went in to his bedroom I saw why. Poor little bug is sick.
He was sound asleep but covered in throw up. It was all dry so he must have thrown up right after I put him to bed last night and I assumed his crying was just because he's been having a hard time adjusting to a normal schedule after a week of chaos. I checked on him a couple times last night (new house paranoia) and because it was dark hadn't noticed. It wasn't very much vomit, so I think it was mostly just because Tate was throwing his around alot right before bed last night and he had a full stomach. So far today he's acting like his normal happy, energetic self, but he's having some digestive problems... no more vomit though! I am releaved he seems to be doing ok, because we're not really equipt with much to take care of a sick kid right now and we haven't picked out a doctor for him down here yet. (I figured I would be able to find a doctor for him once we had met a couple of parents and gotten some recommedations since I didn't think I'd be bringing him in until his 15 month well check.) He's napping now so hopefully a little rest will get him back to normal as soon as possible.
Speaking of Jace... he has really been enjoying our new place. I think his favorite part is that all of the windows are at his eye level now. In our apartment the windows were much shorter so he was never able to see out. Here he can look out all of the windows. He likes to stand at the sliding glass door and look outside at the back yard. When we were at the store the other day we bought him a little plastic flower wind mill to stick in the ground so he can watch it spinning from the window. (He really liked playing with it at the store. We've been spending alot of time just browsing the aisles of nearby stores to get out of the house and get a feel for the area.) Jace also really likes being able to run around outside. I snapped a picture with my camera phone of him exploring the front yard. He was perplexed by the brown winter grass!
Here are some pictures I've taken on my cell phone. Sorry for the poor quality, I have a really bad camera on my phone!
