So I would have a couple fun blogs to post today... except for the fact that I don't. Let's back up and start from the beginning shall we?
All week I felt kind of blah and like time was going on slow motion, so Tate and I made a plan that Saturday morning he would watch Jace while I ran to the store to grab some craft supplies and worked on some projects in the morning. Then he was going to head out and golf while I stayed home with Jace. I woke up and had a big cup (or three) of coffee and headed to Walmart, determined to shake the blah's and do some fun projects.
I spent about an hour browsing the paint aisles, the adhesive section, the fun spring dish collection... getting inspiration. I was really excited with what I picked out and was planning on making two super easy and spring/easter themed dessert stands out of old martini and margarita glasses and plates (this is where a blog post would have come in handy to explain what I mean). I had all of my paint picked out, and picked up a couple of household items too since I was there, and headed to the check out line.
One thing about Walmart in the south... the "Speedy Checkout: 20 Items or less" lane always takes at least 15 minutes to get through. Not so speedy after all. As frustrating as it is to sit and wait and wait and wait... I was finally just one person away from checking out when all of a sudden that fire alarms went off. No one really did anything except look around bewildered and continued on doing what they were doing. The cashier finished checking out the guy in front of me and I set my stuff down so that it could be scanned. I started to pull out my wallet when all of a sudden a herd of people come trampling by, rushing out the door. A manager came and said everyone had to get out immediately and no more people could be rung up.
Are you kidding me?? All because some kid probably pulled the fire alarm. I had to set down all of my stuff and leave the building and so did everyone behind me. Once I got outside a fire truck was pulling up with sirens blasting and everyone was trying to drive out of the parking lot all at once. We weren't going to be allowed back in for quite a while... so I left. Empty handed. Sigh... so that was my morning "away". So much for doing a few projects.
Then Tate left to go golfing and Jace and I hung out for a while before heading downtown Summerville to walk around Flowertown Festival. We met up with Tate afterwards and headed to dinner at our favorite mexican place to get some shrimp tacos. Yum! While at dinner I pulled out the camera to take a picture of Jace dipping each of his chips in his own special "extra mild" salsa.... and right then our food arrived so I set it down on the table.
Once we got home Tate headed out to meet up with a new friend and I put Jace to bed. I figured since I was bored I would come to the blog and post a few fun pictures of Jace that I've taken in the last two days. (They involve him getting a huge fat purple lip, so I don't know if "fun" is the right word...) But, I realized my camera was no where to be found. Sigh, I left it at the restaurant... because that's the kind of day today is!!!
I think I better go to bed now before anything else goes wrong... :)
