Saturday we didn't do anything exciting, but instead just relaxed around the house. We played together in his bedroom and read alot of books. He has been getting really fascinated with reading. He has this big board book with lots of pictures and a "?" button that you push and it asks you to locate a variety of items on each page. It will say "Point to something red." and I will point and he will watch intently. Whenever the book asked us to "Point to something BLUE" Jace would point up at his birthday balloons that are still full of air in his room. Are the balloons blue? No. He was confusing the two words (blue="bloon"), thinking the book was asking him to point to the balloons. I couldn't help but laugh because he did it each time that "blue" was mentioned. After I thought about it I realized what an amazing sponge his brain is right now, I can't believe he even remembered me telling him that those were balloons, since he hasn't been exposed to balloons before last week at his party. Now we'll just have to practice saying "blue" and pointing to things that are actually blue, and not the red and yellow balloons. :)
On Sunday Jace slept in, which I very much appreciated! My friend Kristen, who moved away to Minot in 2004, was in town and stopped over to spend some time with us. She hadn't seen Jace since he was about 7 months old, so I'm sure she was surprised to see how much he's changed. We ran a couple errands together and got lunch. Jace and I split mini-burgers and fries at Applebee's. He was in food heaven! Jace was so tuckered out when we got home that he look a nice long nap. I think his shots have been making him extra sleepy because later he fell asleep on the floor. Of course I couldn't resist taking a couple of pictures...
After Kristen left, Jace and I spent the rest of the day just hanging out at home. I guess that was our theme of the weekend. Low key. We talked to my mom on speaker phone for a little while, which Jace gets really excited about and likes to babble into the phone and say "bye bye".
Jace tried Soy Milk for the first time today, and he did really well with it. I gave it to him cold and in a cup (his formula is usually warm and in a bottle) and he drank it very well. He much prefers a cup to a bottle anyways because he likes that he can take it with him easily when he's on the go. He likes to walk around the house drinking a little bit every few minutes.

Jace is in bed, and I'm heading there shortly. Tomorrow morning Micah will be over to play. This is our last week with him so we're going to try to make sure we have alot of fun together in the next few days. I can't believe Thanksgiving is Thursday already, I better figure out what we're doing for it!
