Miami & Grandma Ellie's Old Furniture

Tate is in Miami for work this week, so it's just Jace and I here at home.  I thought having him gone pretty much every week would be a difficult adjustment, but it's not all that different around here.  The only time it seems weird is at night when Jace and I are eating dinner and doing our bedtime routine, because that's usually family time.  It's also weird that I get to watch whatever I want on TV before bed.  It's a nice ESPN vacation!  I'm not sure if Jace notices that Tate's not here.  It's only been two days so far, so that's probably why.  I'm sure when he sees him on Friday he will get very excited though.

Yesterday I didn't have to work, so after Micah was picked up Jace and I headed to my moms house.  She had some old furniture of my Grandma Ellie's that I wanted to paint.  My grandma was very crafty and I'd like to think that she would be happy to know that I was putting her old furniture to use.  A couple of months ago I took some antiqued green end tables that have been in my family for 50+ years and painted them white.  We now use them as bedside tables in our bedroom.

Last night I painted an old ice cream parlor chair my grandma used to sell at the store she owned in the 60s.  I only had one of the chairs but my aunt is giving me a matching one so I will have a set!  They were light pink and were very chipped.  I thought a fun red color would really accent the heart shaped pattern.  I'm hoping to put the pair, with a small table, on a front porch sometime soon.  :)

I also painted one of my grandma's old white wicker chairs, and an old glass end table.  But I am not quite done with either of those yet since I ran out of brown paint.
