We have had a great relaxing week. Because of the long holiday weekend and having our friend Dano visiting, it's put us in total vacation mode. All we've done is hang out around the house... and eat. And eat some more. On thanksgiving morning I fried up some homemade cinnamon sugar donuts to enjoy with our morning coffee. I found a recipe online that just uses Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits as the base for the donut. Then you punch a hole in the middle of the pre-cut biscuit with a lid or circular object, fry over medium heat, flip, dip in melted butter and then shake in a bag with cinnamon and sugar... and voila! Amazing hot, delicious donuts. So easy and fun for a special day.

| Jace would've eaten all 8 donuts if we'd let him! |
I forgot to mention the night before we had "prepped" our stomachs for our thanksgiving day feast by making meat grenades. Yum! A tradition from back when we all lived together... we took a frozen loaf of garlic bread and added pepperoni, ham, salami, three kinds of cheese, onions and hot pepper relish and broiled it and then sliced it up. :)

On Thanksgiving Tate and Dano watched football on the couch while I prepped dinner and Jace played. We made a 14 pound turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean cassorole, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, corn, and hawaiian rolls. With pumpkin pie for dessert.

He liked the cranberries and pumpkin pie, and not much
else... no surprise there! |

Tate really enjoyed having Dano in town, since he doesn't get much "guy time" now that we live in South Carolina. They did a few fun things this week, including going to the USC v. Clemson football game, and they went saltwater fishing. They brought home crab, flounder, and red fish for us to have for dinner. (Well about 5 dinners actually, they caught a ton!) We boiled the crab up for an appetizer and then had a fish fry with the red fish and flounder. They were both amazing, and I'm not really a fish person.
