Yesterday I was compiling my list of houses I wanted to see in Charleston when we're there next week. As you can probably tell from my previous post, I wasn't crazy about any of the houses within our budget, they were all just "ok". I was getting overwhelmed by options and none of them really jumped out at me.
Well, apparently I was just looking a day too soon. This morning I got an email notification that 10 new houses went on the rental market in the Charleston area overnight that all fit my requirements. I was scrolling through them and by the time I hit the 8th one I knew I didn't have to look any further! This is the house I've been waiting for. For the first time since this house hunt began I feel completely sure that this house is perfect for us. It has everything on my checklist, EVERYTHING. Can you tell I'm excited? I called Tate as soon as I saw it and sent him over the information, he called back right away and was just as excited as I was. This is the house. I know it. I'm starting to panic now that it will be rented before next Tuesday when we arrive in Charleston. I spoke to the realtor to set up a showing and she said already this morning someone else had contacted her about the same property. I'm hoping that was just a sales pitch, but I know things go really quickly in this area. Here is a breakdown on this house...
Specs:
2 story
4 bedroom
2.5 bath
1800 sq ft
2 car attached garage
Priv fenced back yard
Pros:
Price is right in the middle of our budget
4 large bdrms allow plenty of space for toys and guests
Large front porch
Seperate entry area (so many houses in the area don't have this!)
Large kitchen with new appliances, and eat in area with bay window.
Seperate formal dining with double doors leading to screened in porch.
Updated fireplace with no sharp brick edges in living room, more bay windows.
Large back patio off of screened in porch.
Huge back yard with large trees, landscaping, and privacy fence.
Master bdrm has french doors, large windows and vaulted ceiling.
Master bath has double sinks, garden tub with large window, and seperate shower.
Neutral wall colors throughout
On a culd-a-sac road, no through traffic.
Safe area and house has security system equipted.
Close to airport.
Community pool, tennis courts, gym, playground, etc.
Cons:
-Does not come with washer/dryer, would need to purchase (secondhand would be inexpensive and reasonable price of rent more than makes up for it)
-All four bedrooms appear to be upstairs, close to eachother which Tate doesn't like for office privacy and noise control reasons. But I like it to be close to Jace at night.
Ok I really had to search hard for cons and that's all I could come up with at this point...
So to pretty much sum it up, this is it, our dream home. Well within our budget, right in the area we want to live, with lots of space, a gorgeous yard for Jace to run around in, and all the bells and whistles!
I'm so nervous it will be rented before we get to it, it's only 5 days from now, but still.... I'm going to be heartbroken. This tops everything else and I have a hard time believing I could find something else as perfect.
On a side note: We moved up our moving date. Our apartment was rented for February 1st but the new resident would like to move in mid to early January instead. We didn't think this would work for us, but after weighing our options, we realized it may be the best option for us after all. So it looks like we'll be leaving Minnesota around January 5th-10th. That's only a month away! I'm excited, but also nervous... I'm ready to get things moving and get our house finalized. No more wondering and searching, I'm ready to start packing and planning for our new home. :)
