Our Little Artist

Hurricane Irene came past Charleston on Friday, which caused a light rain but thankfully not much else.  The rain forced us to take some time to hang out at home and take it easy.  Jace has just recently gotten into more fine motor activities and crafts.  A few months ago we tried finger painting and it was a disaster, so I decided to try it with Jace again now that he's more patient.

Yep, still a disaster.  He hates having his hands dirty and didn't want anything to do with the paint.  Sort of funny considering the night before his hands looked like this while eating piles and piles of black beans...

Luckily we had paint brushes close by so I pulled those out and Jace immediately knew what to do and started painting multiple pictures.  It was so fun to watch him looking like a little artist... he was so focused.  ;)

Then afterwards we hung his new paintings on his bedroom wall, which he gets really excited about and always points out when he walks in.  :)
