Jace- 2 years 2 months

Jace is almost two months into being two years old now.  I seriously can't get enough of him... every single thing he does at this age amazes me.  He is so funny.  I can't explain it... he just has such a natural sense of humor already, that it boggles my mind.  It's a little bit of a dirty sense of humor if we're being honest, but he pulls it off well.  :)

He loves to laugh, and share inside jokes with us.  If we're driving and he overhears us saying something, he'll start mimicking everything we say in a funny gremlin voice in the backseat and then bust out laughing.  He thinks everything about going potty, bodily functions, and boogers are hilarious.  Not so hyped about that one... hopefully he won't be the kid in kindergarden who is farting and picking his nose in class.  Seriously.  We will be driving and I hear him in the backseat doing an exaggerated eating sound... waiting for me to turn around, and when I do he starts sucking on his finger and saying "mmm mmm yummy boogers!!" and then bursts out laughing at himself.  Where did he learn that?!!

Besides his love for booger humor, he is just so stinkin sweet I can't even explain it.  Tate said that he wants to secretly video tape Jace at bedtime.  He loves to give kisses and hugs and say goodnight to all of his stuffed animals, and to us.  He just seems so innocent and sweet before bedtime.  Just this little voice in the dark saying "night night Tigger, love you" and hugging a stuffed animal.  Can't beat it.  Makes some of the emotional temper tantrums worth it.  ;)

No, but seriously... he doesn't have that many temper tantrums actually.  He will occasionally wake up on the wrong side of the bed and just want to cry and feel sorry for himself for a few minutes... in the middle of the living room floor.  But that's about it commonly.  The worst of the tantrums were more like 6 months ago, thankfully.

His vocabulary and memory are working like crazy right now.  I knew he'd eventually be able to say everything... obviously, but what I didn't realize would kick in so early was his memory.  He will bring things up that we did days ago, or jokes from the past, or even just the fact that he remembers what something is or who someone is that we haven't seen or talked about in several weeks or even months.

He loves his little friends.  He loves being sneaky and mischevious with them... he loves mimicking them... he loves laughing with them.  He loves calling them by name.  Oh, and he loves taking toys away from them.  Ugh.  He definitely likes being social though, which is why we try to get out of the house and surround ourselves with other kids several times a week.

My fears about Jace having ADHD-like tendencies have subsided lately.  Although he can still get overly excited and hyperactive (which is pretty normal!) he is able to focus on tasks alot better than he used to.  A couple people at preschool have commented he's very task oriented... loves to sit and color, or do other crafty projects.  At least once a day he'll beg to color... whether it be with crayons or on his white board... he is obsessed.

Loves to draw!

Another thing he's obsessed with lately is Mr. Potato Head.  Seriously, best $6 I ever spent.  He is so attached to his potato heads... he will sit and play with them for an hour and not get bored of switching out body part after body part.  Who knew?  His most recent obsession is the new train table I found him at the thrift store for $3.99.  He loves playing with trains 100 times more when they're up on a table at his height, rather than down on the floor.  And I appreciate the fact that I don't have to keep putting the track back together each time he trips over it!  :)

New thrift store train table with his set from great grandma Nani on top.

Let's see... what else.  He is still carbohydrate obsessed.  BUT, not to jinx it... he is being a way, way better eater lately.  He'll try almost anything... and if he really hates it he'll ask to spit it out.  Which of course I say no to, so he forces it down.

Oh, and another thing he loves to do that this age, is be a huge ham for the camera.  :)
